Troglodillo Isopods For Sale

Troglodillo is a genus of cave-associated isopods from China and Thailand, erected by Jackson in 1937 and sitting in the family Armadillidae. It is a genus in its own right, not a recent split from Cubaris, though much of the trade still lists these animals under the Cubaris name. The "sp" in many of our Troglodillo product names reflects a different gap: only three species have ever been formally described, so most of what the hobby keeps is recognised by appearance and locality rather than by a published description.

What makes Troglodillo species worth keeping is their distinctive appearance and the slower-paced, more secretive behaviour that comes from their cave-dwelling origins. They aren't beginner isopods - they want consistently high humidity, stable temperatures, and substrate that mimics their natural decaying-organic-matter habitat.
