Repashy Crested Gecko MRP is the diet that changed gecko keeping. Before meal replacement powders existed, keepers relied on baby food and live insects — a combination now known to cause long-term health problems. Repashy's MRP was the original complete powdered diet for fruit-eating geckos, and decades later it remains the staple food that thousands of UK crested gecko keepers build their feeding routine around.

This is a genuinely complete diet: mix one part powder with two parts cold water to a ketchup-like consistency, offer in the evening, and your gecko has everything it needs — fruit, protein, calcium, vitamins, and carotenoids in balanced ratios. No supplementation required, no gut-loading schedules, no dusting. Live insects become an optional enrichment rather than a nutritional necessity.

Which Geckos Is It For?

Crested Gecko MRP is formulated for all fruit-eating gecko species: crested geckos (Correlophus ciliatus), gargoyle geckos, leachianus, chahoua, and other New Caledonian species, plus day geckos (Phelsuma) and mourning geckos. It also works as a supplement for fruit-accepting anoles, skinks, and chameleons.

Why It Works as a Staple

The formula is fruit-based with whey protein isolate and balanced calcium-to-phosphorus ratios designed for animals prone to metabolic bone disease when fed incorrectly. Breeding females in particular benefit from the consistent calcium supply during egg production. The analytical constituents come in at 23% crude protein, 6% fat, and 1.2% calcium — a profile designed for lifelong feeding, not just a treat.

Feeding Routine

Offer fresh MRP every other evening, removing uneaten food after 24–36 hours. Most keepers use small disposable cups or magnetic feeding ledges. In a bioactive enclosure, you don't even need to be too quick clearing leftovers — springtails and dwarf isopod cleanup crews will happily finish what your gecko leaves behind, which is one reason crested gecko keepers and invertebrate keeping overlap so heavily.

Crested Geckos and Bioactive Setups

Crested geckos are arguably the species that brought bioactive keeping into the mainstream. A planted enclosure with a proper cleanup crew of springtails and small isopods processes waste, controls mould, and keeps the enclosure healthy between substrate changes. If you're setting up bioactive, our leaf litter provides the forest-floor layer your cleanup crew needs to establish.

Flavour Variations

The MRP is the original staple. If your gecko gets bored or you want rotation feeding, the range includes Mango Tango, Cherry Bomb, Classic, and Banana Cream Pie — all complete diets that can be fed interchangeably or mixed.

Sizes and Storage

Store the sealed pouch in a cool, dry place; many keepers refrigerate or freeze opened packs to extend freshness. Mixed MRP keeps in the fridge for 2–3 days.

Ideal for: crested, gargoyle, leachianus, chahoua and day gecko keepers; anyone running planted bioactive gecko enclosures; breeders needing reliable staple nutrition.

Not ideal for: insectivorous geckos like leopard geckos — try Grub Pie instead.
