Nutritious vegetable-based flakes enriched with spirulina algae, plankton, spinach, garlic, and lecithin - a great plant-heavy supplement for isopods, millipedes, and cockroaches.
While many invert foods focus on protein, it's just as important to offer your colony plant-based nutrition. These flakes provide exactly that, with a rich vegetable formula that includes spirulina and a solid 40% crude protein content to keep things balanced.
Why These Flakes?
- Spirulina algae - a protein-rich blue-green alga with vitamins and minerals of its own
- 40% crude protein - a well-balanced level that complements higher-protein foods in a varied diet
- Spinach & garlic provide additional plant-based vitamins and nutrients
- Plankton and lecithin are in the recipe too
- Multi-vitamin complex - vitamins A, D3, E, and C
- Easy to crumble and scatter, and softens by itself in a damp enclosure
How to Use
Crumble a small pinch onto the substrate or a small dish and leave the flakes dry: they take up moisture from the enclosure, and misting them first only makes them clump and mould sooner. Remove any uneaten food after a couple of days. A great addition to a varied diet alongside leaf litter, pond sticks, protein sources, and fresh vegetables.
Our guide to feeding isopods spirulina covers what the spirulina in these flakes brings to a colony and how sparingly to offer it.
These plant-heavy flakes are a useful way to balance the protein-rich foods in your colony's diet - ideal for isopods, millipedes, and cockroaches. Browse our full accessories collection for the other components of a varied invert diet.
For Fish
Plant-heavy flakes like these suit fish that graze, mollies and platies among them, as part of a mixed diet with a general flake. Feed a pinch they clear in a couple of minutes. Snails in the same tank pick up the flakes that sink, and our guide to what aquarium snails eat covers the rest of their diet. Our other fish, turtle and reptile foods are on foods for reptiles, turtles and fish.
