Another month, another invertebrate show but this time we were in Wigan!
It’s one of the closer shows we travel to with Wigan only being an hour and a half away from the Pod Headquarters.
The biggest challenge for any show is always deciding what pods to take to the show. We have over 200 colonies of isopod to choose so narrowing down what to take can be a struggle. For Wigan we decided to bring a few things we have never taken to shows like Cubaris Crazy Horse and Cubaris Cherry Blossoms.
We also upgraded to a third table at this show to ensure we had enough space for variety of pods. We decided to also bring a small selection of our dry good products such as flake soil, bee pollen and leaf litter. Plus, a full table of our mystery isopod bags. We also had ‘Pods of the day’ specials on our rubber ducky, cherry blossom and red edge isopods at amazingly low prices!
At Wigan we were neighbours to Bart and Ela from Just One More and Chris Hales and Alice at Animals Addictive which was great for us to catch up when we were less busy with customers.
The show was super busy, and it was great to see so many people coming along to share their love and experience of all thing’s invertebrates. We always enjoy spending time talking to our customers about their shared love of isopods or other invertebrates, plus much more.
We also helped out OnlyPods whilst Josh delivered an isopod talk. A very informative talk from a very knowledgeable guy. A good friend of ours.
To close the show day, we found a great Italian restaurant close by to the show. We filled our boots on a 3-course meal each (£20.99 special a few miles from the show - was honestly amazing) and then travelled home.
The next show we will be attending will be the Bristol Invertebrate Show on 26 July 2026. We look forward to seeing you all there.
