With our pods all packed we commenced the 200-mile journey down to London the day before the first invertebrate show for PostPods of the year. After a long car journey, we arrived in London in the early evening on a glorious sunny day to join Eight-Legged Emporium who were hosting a lovely BBQ at their home. The evening was filled with great laughs and catch ups with other fellow traders in the hobby, Micro Exotics, Animals Addictive, Jeremie's Wild World, Scotts Inverts and more. After a great evening with full bellies, we checked into our hotel and tucked the pods in bed ready for show day.
To the surprise of many of our fellow traders, Postpods arrived earlier than our usual late arrival that we have been jibed over at previous shows. The biggest shock to all the traders was the lack of slippers being worn by Dan which has also become a staple trademark of attending the invert shows. RIP to Dan’s UGG slippers which had to be binned after a long, smelly and scruffy life on Dan’s feet.
We levelled up our show game this year with an extra table for our popular mystery bags which were a big hit at the show. Everyone loves a £10 mystery bag! We also had excellent show offers on our pods including the ever-popular rubber ducky isopods. Of course we also had our popular holographic free isopod stickers which our customers and passers by loved. We also added a sweet touch to our stall with a tub of sweets for everyone to help themselves to a lolly or two.
The show was super busy during the morning with a swarm of customers passing through the doors. It still amazes us at how many people are as enthusiastic about inverts as we are and it is a fantastic opportunity for us to come together under one roof. Our favourite part of the shows is to interact with our customers. We love to answer questions, hear about your own invertebrate collections and experiences and share our knowledge and passion for pods with you all. We also love to put the human behind the screen name together and meet you in person for the first time. A big shout out to Ray who we met for the first time after many, many emails and text exchanges as one of our loyal returning customers.
As the volume of customers started to wind down towards the end of the show, it was good opportunity for us to do some more mingling with the other traders such as Only Pods, Zoo on Wheels and Just One More, BugzUK, Creature Covern and many more! at the show to share a hug, catch up and reflect on the show day.
The show days go so quickly and as quick as the show began we were no sooner finding ourselves packing up ready for another 200 mile long journey back home.
We look forward to seeing you at our next show at Wigan on 7 June 2026. Don’t forget to buy your tickets! See you there.
Absolutely amazing to see you guys the evening before and at the show.
