Super Veggie solves the herbivore supplementation problem: how do you dust a salad? Powdering vegetables with standard calcium powder produces a chalky coating that many tortoises and lizards simply eat around. Super Veggie is formulated specifically for mixing with fresh vegetables — at just 2.5% by weight (one tablespoon per pound of veg) it disappears into the salad while correcting the calcium, vitamin A, D and E shortfalls that fresh produce alone leaves behind.

The Problem It Solves

Shop-bought vegetables are grown for human preferences, not reptile nutrition — they're typically low in calcium relative to phosphorus and short on the fat-soluble vitamins herbivorous reptiles need. A tortoise or iguana on an undusted supermarket salad is quietly accumulating deficiencies. Super Veggie's analysis (minimum 4% calcium, 100,000 IU/lb vitamin A, 10,000 IU/lb vitamin D) is calibrated to bring a fresh vegetable diet up to proper herbivore standards at the recommended inclusion rate.

How to Use

Sprinkle over chopped vegetables at 25 grams per kilo (1 tablespoon per pound) and mix thoroughly, or pre-mix with water into a dressing and toss the salad in it. Use at every vegetable feeding.

An Honest Note for Invert Keepers

We're asked whether Super Veggie suits isopods and millipedes feeding on vegetables. It's formulated and dosed for vertebrate herbivores, so we don't recommend repurposing it — invertebrates self-regulate calcium far better from graze-as-needed sources like cuttlebone and crushed oyster shell, which is exactly how we supply our own colonies.
