Repashy Calcium Plus

Repashy Calcium Plus is the supplement that simplified reptile keeping: an all-in-one insect dusting powder combining calcium, vitamin D3, and a complete vitamin and trace element profile in a single product. Traditional supplementation means rotating between separate calcium and multivitamin powders on different schedules — a system with plenty of room for error. Calcium Plus replaces the rotation entirely: one powder, used at every insect feeding.

What Makes It Different

The formula provides vitamin A as both retinol and carotenoids — significant because the retinol-vs-beta-carotene debate has real health implications for species like chameleons that convert carotenoids poorly. The calcium, D3 and vitamin levels are balanced for use at every feeding rather than the once-weekly dosing that standalone multivitamins require, removing the scheduling guesswork that causes both deficiency and oversupplementation.

How to Use

Whose Insects Need Dusting?

Practically every insectivorous reptile and amphibian in UK collections: leopard geckos, bearded dragons, chameleons, day geckos, dart frogs, White's tree frogs, salamanders and more. Dart frog keepers — a community that overlaps heavily with springtail and isopod keeping, since both are dart frog staple foods — dust their fruit flies with Calcium Plus as standard practice. If you culture your own feeders, whether fruit flies, feeder cockroaches, or micro-inverts, dusting is the final step before they go in the enclosure.

Dusting vs Gut-Loading

These solve different problems and work best together. Gut-loading with Bug Burger fills your feeders with nutrition from the inside over 24–48 hours; dusting with Calcium Plus coats the outside immediately before feeding. Serious keepers do both.

A Note for Invertebrate Keepers

Calcium Plus is formulated for vertebrates via dusted insects — it's not an isopod or millipede supplement. For direct calcium provision to invertebrates, cuttlebone and Malawi limestone remain the right tools.

HyD and LoD Variants

Calcium Plus comes in three D3 strengths. The standard version suits most setups; HyD (higher D3) suits animals with little or no UVB exposure; LoD (lower D3) suits animals under strong UVB where excessive dietary D3 is the bigger risk. If you run high-output UVB, choose LoD; if you run none, consider HyD.
