Calcium Plus LoD is the low-D3 version of Repashy's all-in-one dusting powder, designed for animals kept under quality UVB lighting that synthesise most of their own vitamin D3 — where the supplementation risk runs in the opposite direction to most keepers' instincts.

Why Lower D3?

Modern UVB provision has improved enormously, and animals basking under high-output T5 systems produce substantial D3 through their skin. Layering high dietary D3 on top creates a genuine oversupplementation risk — hypervitaminosis D causes calcification of soft tissues and is harder to treat than deficiency. LoD provides the same complete calcium, vitamin and trace element profile as the standard formula, with D3 reduced to a level appropriate for animals already making their own.

Who Should Use LoD?

Keepers running serious UVB: bearded dragons under high-output T5 systems, chameleons in screen enclosures with strong UVB, day geckos, agamids, and diurnal species generally. Dart frog keepers with UVB-lit vivariums also lean toward LoD when dusting fruit flies. If that's your setup, LoD at every feeding is the safer everyday choice, with the same complete vitamin A (retinol plus carotenoid) profile as its siblings.

How to Use

Shake feeders gently with a small amount of powder and feed immediately, at every insect feeding. Pairs with gut-loading: feeders raised on Bug Burger for 24–48 hours then dusted with LoD carry both internal and external nutrition. If you're choosing between the three versions: no UVB → HyD; moderate/uncertain UVB → standard Calcium Plus; strong UVB → LoD.

Ideal for: bearded dragons, chameleons and diurnal lizards under high-output UVB; UVB-lit dart frog vivariums.
