Invertebrates sold through pet-shop supply chains often change hands three or four times before they reach you — each stage adds stress, temperature shock and time without food. Our isopods and springtails go from our culture shelves to your door, packed with substrate, food and moisture for the journey. Orders post Monday to Thursday only, regardless of the postage option you choose, so livestock isn't sitting in a depot over the weekend.

Every species listing on the site includes real care guidance written from our own experience keeping and breeding that specific culture — temperature, humidity, substrate, calcium, breeding notes — not generic copy.

Common questions

Is everything on this page captive-bred in the UK?
Yes. PostPods breeds every species we sell. Nothing is wild-caught, and we don't resell imports.

Do you offer a live arrival guarantee?
Yes — every order is packed for live arrival and backed by our guarantee. Because livestock welfare depends on short transit times, orders ship Monday to Thursday only.

I'm new to bioactive setups — where should I start?
A starter culture of Dairy Cow or Powder Blue isopods plus a pot of springtails will handle cleanup and mould control in most reptile, amphibian or planted vivariums. Pair with good leaf litter and a piece of cork bark and you're set.

Can I mix species in the same enclosure?
Sometimes — it depends on humidity and temperature requirements. Tropical Cubaris shouldn't be mixed with Mediterranean Armadillidium because their care needs conflict. Springtails pair safely with almost any isopod species. Each product page lists compatible tankmates.
